I spoke with a college counselor yesterday, and she thought deviously to turn my doll hobby into an extracurricular activity. Oh man, if I could get into college by playing with my BJDs, I'd be one happy little chica.

So um. She thought it would be a great idea for me to do faceup commission work. It would show, uh...passion and initiative and all that good stuff. And also because, holycrap I reaaaallly want to start commissions, and this is like getting an OK from the Powers That Be. The parental units cannot possibly object if it's for a good cause like this. : D

But I need some serious input from people. I've seen the critiques people give on DoA, and people are always more enthusiastic in what they say than what they actually mean. I see people saying "I would commission you right now", but that doesn't actually mean anything when it comes time to commit. I need to know if my work is actually commissionable material. And pricing. I'm not in this for the money, but MSC isn't free, and my time isn't unlimited. If I'm doing this, I want to charge a price that's a little on the low side for my skill level in order to attract a fairly steady stream of clients. Not only that, but it would be really nice if I could donate my earnings to an appropriate charity once the summer's over.

So, in all honesty, would you commission me? And how much would you be willing to waste on this here girl and her little paintbrush?
