alfie and the inchworm by Arckaya alfie and the inchworm by Arckaya
While I was outside for this shoot an ickle little inchworm crawled up and I decided to stick it on Alfie's hand. Alfie is fascinated by the miniscule, so I had to pose him like this. : D

No inchworms were hurt in the making of this, as far as I know. It's not like when Liesel went outside and sat on one and killed it. He is no giant woman-beast like Liesel. :/

Alfie is a migidoll ryu, and I have just decided that the inchworm's name is Emerson. FARE THEE WELL, EMERSON. I HOPE YOU TURN INTO ONE OF THOSE ANNOYING MOTHS ONE DAY.

He looks so real! :3 Because of the lights on the background it looks like a camera is moving around him. Oh man, I love that! <3

Thanks! I didn't realize that the lights looked like they were moving. These things happen by accident. XD

FFFFFFFFFF THE CUTE IT BURNS <333

God I love how natural they both look. Between that and the scale, it just looks so real.

XD and oh, Alfie, you look so pleased with your little worm.

I'm kind of surprised by the scale, actually! I never expected it to work out so well, but I'm glad it did. ^^

Let's just pretend that Alfie was cooing sweet nothings at the wormie. : D

Alfie serves two purposes: to be cute and to look good in dresses. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN. D:

Dude, he is (or was) supposed to be a normal guy. ;_;

Thanks! I think body language is really important with dolls, so I'm pleased that his interest is coming across here. ^^

You're welcome :) And yes, it really is quite important. All too often they look too awkward and static and well, like dolls. :P Its really an art to give them the appearance of life.

Aww, thanks! It is pretty interesting that the scale of the worm works out so well with him. It's not too big or small.

This is just adorable. The posing looks so natural, and doll shots with small creatures can be challenging as they move rather quickly (I tried for quite a while to get a shot of my Banji with a crawfish I had caught in a lake once).

Thanks so much! Luckily, this was a pretty sluggish inchworm. I think it was still really disoriented from me picking it up so it didn't try to escape or anything.

I imagine a crawfish would be much more elusive. : D
